Many of our customers have asked about the status of trips. We hope to be able to do trips again in the future, but, many factors impact our ability to offer a quality experience. Liability issues require that we provide two staff members per trip, both of whom need to be certified in Wilderness First Aid and CPR. Costs continue to rise and along with the staff's salaries, we are required to carry liability coverage like any other guide service and, of course, fuel costs continue to increase. Appalachian Outfitter's trips have been know for their great itineraries and low costs. Before restarting the trip program, we want to be sure we can continue to provide outings at a reasonable cost, while still providing for everone's safety. In the interim, we will continue to offer as many classes as possible. Classes such as Map/Compass/GPS, Backpack Stoves & Cooking, and Introduction to Backpacking. Have ideas for other classes?
