Jack Wolfksin, an outdoor gear company based in Germany, was first established in Frankfurt, Germany in 1981. Gradually, the company grew to its new location in Idstein, Germany. Its closest US comparison is Patagonia, with a team of staff who are most comfortable outdoors, where they design outstanding products from innovative ideas.
The focus of the brand is functionality and sustainability; all of their products are created with the goal of keeping you warm and dry and lasting for many years to come. This fall, our Jack Wolfskin feature is the Ross Island Jacket.

The Ross Island Jacket is a 3-in-1 efficiency machine; it is waterproof and windproof but still breathable, with a warm inner jacket. The inner and outer jackets can be worn together or separately, making it more versatile to match your lifestyle. If you happen to wear a different inner jack when you’re outdoors, the outer layer’s zipper will still be compatible. You can also adjust or remove the hood as well as its fake fur trim.

This jacket, like other Jack Wolfskin parkas, is designed to keep you warm despite the cold outdoors. Thanks to the company’s TEXAPORE fabric, the outer shell of the jacket will block cold rain, wind, and snow from making you cold. The company specially designed its hybrid DOWNFIBER fill, combining synthetic fibers and hydrophobic down for lightweight warmth, even if it gets damp.

Jack Wolfskin TEXAPORE fabric is also breathable, so that your inside temperature is easy to regulate. There are additional vented zips located under the arms so that you can further personalize and regulate your own insulation. TEXAPORE material also stretches enough so that your jacket moves with you as you explore the outdoors; there’s nothing about the Ross Island Jacket that could hold you back!
