Since 1974, Mikov has been producing the Uton for the Czech Military. The first model# 75 was introduced into the Czechoslovak Army as a personal weapon of an individual soldier. It was designed for reconnaissance and airborne units for self-defense. The cord can be used in survival situations and is also used to keep the file and saw securely attached to the end of the handle.
