Ecuadane blankets, a small outfit 100% owned by women and making their blankets in Ecuador, have recently hit the sales floor here at Appalachian Outfitters. We could not be more excited to share some information both about the company and the product.
The company was started by an Ecuadorian and Danish family with the principle of keeping their values of unity, adventure, and quality time at its core. Starting in the Ecuadorian town of Otavalo, Ecuadane works with local artisans who have been weaving since pre-Incan times. Focusing on quality and a higher level of artisanship, they set out to make their Everywhere Blanket. A very versatile blanket meant to be perfect for both at home and on the go. Today, Ecuadane is 100% woman owned and have branched out creating all sorts of fun patterned blankets.
Ecuadane makes all of its blankets using a 100% Ultra-soft modacrylic material with recycled content. This textile has a phenomenally soft feel in the hands while remaining lightweight and breathable for all year use. They measure in at 93” by 82” meaning they fit a queen sized bed and are large enough to wrap completely round you. They are completely machine washable and offer a lifetime guarantee meaning they are easy to care for and you don’t need to be afraid to use it.
